Rahn Kulturfonds was founded to promote and award outstanding students of Swiss music academies. Hence, every two years Rahn Kulturfonds is organising the competition Rahn Musikpreis, alternately for piano and stringed instruments. Following the competition the prize winners will perform as soloists at the grand hall of Tonhalle Zürich, accompanied by a well-renowned orchestra. Subsequently, the prize winners receive the opportunity for other prestigious appearances, such as the Rahn Continuo concert. Rahn Kulturfonds also awards scholarships and lends instruments to distinguished young musicians. Furthermore, institutions that aim to promote classical music of all epochs will be supported.
