Rahn Kulturfonds was founded to promote and award outstanding students of Swiss music academies. Hence, every two years Rahn Kulturfonds is organising the competition Rahn Musikpreis, alternately for piano and stringed instruments. Following the competition the prize winners will perform as soloists at the grand hall of Tonhalle Zürich, accompanied by a well-renowned orchestra. Subsequently, the prize winners receive the opportunity for other prestigious appearances, such as the Rahn Continuo concert. Further they get opportunities to perform in concerts of nameable organizers. Rahn Kulturfonds also awards scholarships and lends instruments to distinguished young musicians.

The concert of the prize winners took place on April 29th, 2016, under conduction of Christian Knüsel and Neues Orchester Basel in the Tonhalle in Zurich.
