Rahn Musikpreis was established in 1976 in order to promote students of Swiss conservatories and music academies. The competition is organised by Rahn Kulturfonds and takes place every two years, alternately for piano and stringed instruments. A top-class international jury awards a substantial amount of prize money and the prize winners get the opportunity to perform as soloists at the grand hall of Tonhalle Zürich. They will be accompanied by a well-renowned orchestra.
