Anastasia Subrakova was born in 1994 in Abakan, Southern Siberia. She began playing the violin at the age of six. To enable her to study with Professor Shalman, her family moved to St. Petersburg. In 2015 she received her Bachelor’s degree from Professor Schwartz in Sion, followed by a Master’s degree from Professor Makarova in Lausanne. Today she studies under the world-famous violinist Ilya Gringolts at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.
Anastasia played as a soloist in the Great Philharmonic Orchestra of St. Petersburg, Dr Koncerthuse in Copenhagen and the President’s Hall in Ankara. She has participated in various festivals such as the Sion Festival and Lavaux Classique in Switzerland, Musical Olimp in Russia and The Educational Bridge Project in the USA. She also appeared on Swiss radio “Espace 2”. She has worked with many conductors including Heinz Holliger, Emilio Pamarico, Dmitri Yurovski and Philippe Huttenlocher.
Her style, described as “courageous, emotional and instinctive,” is reflected in her sound and daring repertoire selection. Anastasia likes to bring different styles together to emphasize the singularity of each piece.
Anastasia is Art Director of the International Music Festival in Abakan. The violinist won a scholarship from Rahn Kulturfonds in 2018. Since December 2018 she plays a violin loaned by Rahn Kulturfonds.
As a Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holder, Anastasia plays the violin with the label “Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis faciebat anno1727”, on loan from the Rahn Kulturfonds.
