Anna Štrbová, born in 1994 in Bratislava, discovers her passion for music at the age of six. In 2012 she enters the oboe class of Milada Hrianková at the National Conservatory in Žilina. During the following four years, she participates as a soloist and chamber musician in various concerts, competitions and festivals. In 2012 and 2014 she wins the 1st prize at the National Competition of Slovak Conservatories. At the National Competition of Slovak Conservatories of Chamber Music, the young oboist is awarded 1st prize as a member of a woodwind trio in 2014.
Between 2012 and 2015 Anna regularly performs at concerts of the Slovak National Radio in the program “Štúdio mladých” (Studio for young musicians). In 2015, she is selected to perform as a soloist the European premiere of the Oboe Concerto by David Mullikin in cooperation with the Slovak Sinfonietta under the American conductor Theodor Kuchar. In the same year she is accepted into the class of Fabien Thouand, solo oboist of the Orchestra of La Scala, at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. During her bachelor’s studies at this university, she receives a scholarship from the Lyra Foundation and Fondazione Dr. Valentin Malamoud.
In 2018 Anna is accepted into the class of Jean-Louis Capezzali at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, where she is currently in her second year of the Master of Performance.
Anna is a prize winner of several international competitions such as the Concorso internazionale di musica in Chieri (2nd prize 2017 and 2019), the Ferlendis International Competition (2nd prize 2019) and the Muri Competition (semi-finalist 2019). Since November 2019, she is also a scholarship holder of the Rahn Kulturfonds.
Anna has performed at a number of music festivals including “Allegrettoˮ (Slovakia), “Festival di Eugen Suchoňˮ (Slovakia), “Oggimusicaˮ (Switzerland) and “Cafe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festivalˮ (Hungary). She has already worked with accomplished musicians such as Heinz Holliger, Giovanni Antonini, Markus Poschner, Klaidi Sahatci, Vladimir Verbitsky, Xian Zhang, Alexnder Lonquich and others. She is a member of the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra (SJSO).
The board of trustees of the Rahn Kulturfonds meets twice a year and will consider all fully completed applications received.

The Rahn Kulturfonds supports requests regarding a contribution to the performance fees if:
- it is a project with or by Rahn Kulturfonds prize winners.
- it is a project with Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holders.
The Rahn Kulturfonds supports its prize winners and scholarship holders during four years after receiving the award.
