The young pianist Georgiana Pletea, born in Bucharest in 1993, began her piano studies at the age of 7 with Gabriela Enasescu and continued her studies with Elisa Barzescu.
Since 2012, she is a student of Adrian Oetiker and completed her Master of Performance Soloist at the Music Academy Basel in 2019, her Master of Pedagogy in 2017 and her Bachelor of Arts in 2015 with excellent results. She is currently studying in a supplementary course of studies.
Georgiana Pletea is supported by the Henri Coandă and Remember Enescu Foundations and has won first prizes in numerous competitions. Already at the age of 16, Georgiana Pletea performed at the Romanian Athenaeum with the George Enescu Lyceum Philharmonic Orchestra Bucharest. In Basel, she performed successfully with the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestergesellschaft Weil am Rhein. She made further concert experience at the National Music Festival Remember Enescu in Kronstadt, the International Music Festival Chopin 200 or the World Music Concert in the City Hall Brisbane in Australia.
Georgiana Pletea has attended master classes with Roger Vignoles, Susan Tomes, Johannes Meissl, Homero Francesch and Emanuel Ax.
The board of trustees of the Rahn Kulturfonds meets twice a year and will consider all fully completed applications received.

The Rahn Kulturfonds supports requests regarding a contribution to the performance fees if:
- it is a project with or by Rahn Kulturfonds prize winners.
- it is a project with Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holders.
The Rahn Kulturfonds supports its prize winners and scholarship holders during four years after receiving the award.
