Julia Polinskaja was born in Moscow in 1995 and grew up in Hamburg. She received her first piano lessons at the age of four. Later, as a second instrument, she also studied the violin.
The young pianist studied at the HfMT Hamburg with Prof. Marian Migdal and at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Tel Aviv with Prof. Asaf Zohar and Dr. Mark Shaviner. Since 2016 Julia has been studying in the class of Prof. Claudio Martínez Mehner, first at the HfMT Cologne and since 2018 at the Hochschule für Musik Basel.
Julia Polinskaja performed in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg with the KlassikPhilharmonie Hamburg, she gave recitals in Israel, Germany and Spain, live at the Israeli radio channel “Kol ha-Musica” and as piano duo “Noema” together with Arash Rokni. Furthermore, Julia had the opportunity to work with Jesper Christensen, Victor Derevianko, Andras Kemenes, Anton Kernjak, Kennedy Moretti, Anthony Spiri, Nina Tichman and Rita Wagner.
Julia Polinskaja was a longtime scholarship holder of the “Jugend musiziert” association, the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and the ELES study centre.
The board of trustees of the Rahn Kulturfonds meets twice a year and will consider all fully completed applications received.

- it is a project with Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holders.
Rahn Kulturfonds supports its prize winners and scholarship holders during four years after receiving the award.
