Marie Waldmannova
Marie Waldmannová was born in 1986 into a family of Prague musicians. At the age of seven she received her first cello lessons. From 1997 to 2005 she attended the Music High School in Prague, where she took cello lessons with Martin and Mirko Škampa. From 2005 she was a student in the class of Jaroslav Kulhan at the Prague Conservatory. From 2007 to 2010 she studied at the Lucerne School of Music in the class of Prof. Marek Jerie. Since October 2010 she is a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart in the Soloist class with Professor Conradin Brotbek. In 2011/2012 she was an intern at the Staatsorchester Stuttgart. In 2008 she was awarded the second prize at the International Beethoven Competition in Hradec nad Moravicí in the Czech Republic, in 2009 the first prize at the Concourse International Féminin de Musique du Lyceum Club in Lausanne and in January 2010 the third prize at the Rahn Music Prize in Zurich.
