Pippa Sieppala
Pippa Sieppala, born in 2001, started playing the violin at the age of five. At the age of nine she became a student of the Violin Academy for selected, highly talented young Finnish violinists – funded by Finnish Cultural Foundation – where she has been taught by Ilya Grubert (Conservatorium van Amsterdam), Elina Vähälä, (Vienna University of Music) and Janne Malmivaara (Sibelius Academy, Helsinki Conservatory). She has also been studying at Turku Conservatory and Helsinki Conservatory with Janne Malmivaara since 2010. Pippa started her Bachelor studies with Barbara Doll at the Basel Music Academy in 2020.
Pippa made her concert debut in 2013, aged 12, with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2015 she performed with Turku Philharmonic Orchestra as Young Soloist of the Year and also as a soloist with Helsinki Concordia (Helsinki Conservatory). Since then she has performed as a soloist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Wegelius Chamber Strings and the Astona, orchestra among others. She was a finalist – and the youngest participant – in the Jyväskylä Violin Competition in 2016, and in 2019 she was awarded the third prize. After the competition she was awarded the Pro Musica scholarship with recognition.
Being also a keen player of chamber music Pippa has participated in Aurora Masterclasses, Kuhmo Chamber Music, British Isles Music Festival and Astona International Summer Music Academy among others and performs frequently as a chamber musician. In 2017 and 2018 while participating in Kuhmo Chamber Music, Pippa was chosen to play along with Konstantin Bogino, and at the end of the course was awarded the Oleg Kagan Memorial Fund Scholarship ”for a prominent and talented student”.
In summer 2021 she took part in the International Menuhin Music Academy and was the Sysmä Music Festival “Young Musician of the Year 2021”.
Since June 2021 Pippa has been playing on an A. Bellosio (1770) violin kindly on loan from the Local Cooperative Bank of Sysmä.

The board of trustees of the Rahn Kulturfonds meets twice a year and will consider all fully completed applications received.

Rahn Kulturfonds supports requests regarding a contribution to the performance fees if:
- it is a project with or by Rahn Kulturfonds prize winners.
- it is a project with Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holders.
Rahn Kulturfonds supports its prize winners and scholarship holders during four years after receiving the award.
