The Rahn Kulturfonds was founded to promote and award outstanding students of swiss music conservatoires and academies.

Rahn Musikpreis

Rahn Kulturfonds was founded over 45 years ago to reward and encourage outstanding students at Swiss music academies. In this spirit, Rahn Kulturfonds organises the competition Rahn Musikpreis every two years, alternating between piano and string instruments.

An integral part of the prize is a solo performance with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra in an established concert hall. Further Rahn Concerts provide the musicians with additional platforms to present their development. Furthermore, Rahn Kulturfonds promotes the careers of its prize winners by arranging and financing performances at renowned concerts.

Competition: 22 – 24 January 2024
Prize winners’ concert: 24 May 2024
