Rahn Musikpreis 2022 for strings

Rahn Musikpreis was established in 1976 to promote students at Swiss music academies. The competition is held every two years, alternating between piano and strings, and is organised by Rahn Kulturfonds.

2022 COMPETITION for strings

The competition for violin, viola, violoncello and double bass will be held at ZKO-Haus in Zurich and is open to the public.

second round: 20 January 2022 (final)

The first prize winners will perform as soloists with Luzerner Sinfonieorchester at Tonhalle Zurich. The concert will be conducted by Jonathan Bloxham.

The application must be received in full by 27 October 2021 at the latest and takes place in three steps:

  1. Fill in the online application form (see below).
  2. Upload the documents/files according to the terms and conditions by using the personal link that will be sent to you by e‑mail within two work days after the submission of the application form.
  3. Payment of the application fee according to the terms and conditions.

The registration is only valid after full completion of all three registration steps by 27 October 2021 at the latest.

The competition is open to candidates whose application has been received in time and in full and who have been accepted by the jury after the video pre-selection.
