The Rahn Music Prize competition is held every two years, alternating between piano and string instruments. Students of all nationalities at Swiss music academies are eligible to take part. The prizewinners receive substantial prizes and further support for four years in the form of concert appearances and the payment of fees.
COMPETITION
The Rahn Musikpreis 2026 competition for violin, viola, cello and double bass took place from 20-22 January at the ZKO-Haus in Zurich. Following a video preselection of 79 candidates from around the world, 23 young talents ultimately presented themselves to the jury. All six finalists received a prize. The following prizewinners were awarded.
