Catherine Sarazin
Born in 2000 in Saint-Etienne, France, Catherine Sarazin began playing the piano at the age of four before entering the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Saint-Etienne in 2009 in the class of Roland Meiller and later Lyuba Zecheva. In 2018, she obtained the Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales with distinction in piano and chamber music and then moved to study at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne. In 2021, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree with honors in the class of Christian Favre and is currently continuing her studies with the Master in Specialized Music Performance in the class of Igor Tchetuev.
In 2013, she participated in the Grand Concours International de Piano de Lyon and won the First Prize in the category “Young Musicians” with honors. Catherine had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned pianists such as Anne Queffélec, Jean-Philippe Collard and Mikhail Rudy. Involved in chamber music, the young pianist works with Vincent Coq and José-Daniel Castellon at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne. She was invited to play at the 2020 edition of the Bel-Air Festival, and performed at the Schubertiade in Sion in March 2021, at the Festival 4 Saisons in Lausanne and at the Mélodies sur Arzon in France. She is also involved in the Lavaux Classic project competition.
In 2021, Catherine received the HES-SO Music and Performing Arts Domain Prize.

The board of trustees of the Rahn Kulturfonds meets twice a year and will consider all fully completed applications received.

Rahn Kulturfonds supports requests regarding a contribution to the performance fees if:
- it is a project with or by Rahn Kulturfonds prize winners.
- it is a project with Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship holders.
Rahn Kulturfonds supports its prize winners and scholarship holders during four years after receiving the award.
